Another Spring

This has been a snowy/icy week for many of us, especially along the eastern seaboard. In fact, news outlets are reporting snow in all 50 states, except Florida (even Hawaii has snowy mountain tops).

In light of this, our CLC President, Yvonne Tracey, has shared a poem written by former CLC parliamentarian, Patricia Lewis:
ANOTHER SPRING

There’ll be another spring, you know
When we will see the flowers grow.
When dark days of winter melt away
To come, again, another day.

When birds will praise the Lord in song
For providing food all winter long.
When rains cleanse away the grimy snow—
Crocuses bursting through the ground below.

There’ll be another spring, you know
As the budding trees put on their show.
The gloom of winter will be swept away.
The sun growing warmer with each passing day.

With God’s promise of another spring
We can put away each negative thing.
As we sense the softening of the frozen earth.
With springtime, comes a time for rebirth.

Don’t let this winter of our discontent
Cause a song of joy to become a lament.
For new life and new hope, Jesus did bring.
Believe it, beloved—
there’ll be another spring.
